What are these white spots on my candy bar?
If Baby Ruth bars are stored at too high a temperature, the fat or oil ingredients can melt or soften enough to migrate to the top of the candy bar. When the bar cools again, the fat on the surface may appear as a whitish powder. This is known as “fat bloom”. While the candy is still safe to eat, the creaminess and flavor impact can be affected. This discoloration could cover the entire product, or could show up as spots or streaks. So we recommend you store your candy bars in a cool, dry place (ideally between 60 - 70 degrees F).
